NEW DELHI: A serious and dangerous attempt is said to have been made on the life of the Indian Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi yesterday. The police sources claimed to have found a powerful bomb near the residence of Rajiv Gandhi. The police sources said that the bomb appears to have been planted by the Sikh freedom fighters in an apparent attempt on the life of Rajiv Gandhi.
The police said if that bomb had blasted it would have caused a great loss of human lives and property.
The police so far have not been able to pin point the responsibility but as usual threw vague hints to malign Sikhs for this act.
Meanwhile a powerful bomb blasted in a bus at Shahdara on the outskirts of Delhi, where two persons were killed and 20 injured. All the injured persons are stated to be in serious condition.
