BERKELEY, Ca.: A workshop on public relations and image building for Sikhs was organized at Emeryville Holiday Inn on March 21, 1987, by Dr. Sulakhan Singh Dhillon. Participants expressed their views in an informal manner and the discussion remained confined strictly to the issue of “Breaking the media barriers”. Many useful and thought provoking ideas were given by Amrik Singh Gill, Piara Singh, Karnail Singh Kahlon, Darleen Dhillon, Pal Singh Randhawa, Inderjit Singh Bal, Ravinder Singh Shergill, Tarlochan Singh Sandhu, Harmohan Singh Bhullar, Mr. Bajwa, Mrs. Gurbax Kaur Kahlon and Manjeet Singh Sidhu.
Mrs. Kahlonand Ravinder Shergill was deputed to keep track of the coverage of Sikhs in the international media and Mrs. Darleen Dhillon and Sulakhan Singh Dhillon were deputed to organize Sikh participation in\local festivals, fairs and parades.
