NEW YORK, June 9, Reuter: Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi said on Thursday that West Germany had agreed to join the United States and other countries in sharing information with India on Sikh dissidents.
Gandhi, in a television interview, said that India had reached agreements with other countries to obtaining such information but had been unable to conclude one with West Germany until his trip to Bonn this week.
“Now they have agreed to do so,” he said.
When asked what kind of Sikh intelligence information India gets from the United States, he replied, “on all terrorist activities”.
He said that did not mean all were suspect, saying “there are very few who terrorists are”.
Gandhi is in New York to address the United Nations.
