Ahmedabad — Government has bowed before the student sponsored agitation against concessions and reservations in services and educational institutions on the caste basis and instead agreed to the principle of reservations on the basis of economic backwardness.
The bloody agitation has already claimed over 250 lives and has been going on for months. Meanwhile, some student leaders have disowned the agreement and declared that the agitation would continue. However, government circles claim that the number of dissatisfied students is very small and they are not capable of continuing the agitation of their own.
