CHANDIGARH INDIA: The Council of Khalistan has appealed to various Akali Dals to extend support to the movement launched by the Panthic Committee. In a statement issued here on January 22, a spokesman of the Council said the policy of Akali morchas was being sabotaged by the opportunist leadership. Concern for the Panth was secondary. The spokesman added that the Akali strategy of cooperation and compromise with the Center had failed to bring an honorable solution to the problem. The spokesman charged that the Akali leaders had failed to protect the sanctity of the Golden Temple and always looked up to Delhi for concessions rather than taking a principled stand on their just rights.
