NEW DELHI: In a major policy shift the Railway Ministry last week opened rail tourism to the private sector when it approved three private operators for running tourists trains on four popular circuits.

They are M/s Patil Group in association with the Orient Express Group of London, East West Airlines and Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited,

The capital cost of each tourist train would be about Rs 20-25 crore and a private investment of about Rs 100 crore has been so far mobilized, an official release said.
