During his visit to Boston, the Indian Prime Minister stayed in a hotel called “Four Seasons.” Rao is a Brahman. His security official, S.N.Tiwari, who accompanied him, is also a Brahman. Tiwari put pressure on the hotel management to evict all black residents and workers from the hotel and entrust the hotel services meant for Rao to the White Americans or White Europeans. The black staff resented the order. They moved a statutory forum against racial discrimination. How free and self respecting these people are!
There are racial contradictions in the Indian society, too. These contradictions take the form of upper-lower castes. The upper caste-dominated Hindu society is in conflict with certain religions such as Sikhism, Islam and Christianity. The Indian state is controlled mainly by Brahmans. They particularly are in commanding positions in the security forces and intelligence agencies. No wonder the Indian prime minister’s security is in the hands of Brahmans. The latter do not trust other religious groups in India after the assassination of Mrs.Gandhi by her Sikh security guards. The same yardstick applies to the problems of the Indian prime minister in America. Indian Brahman rulers have a natural antipathy towards blacks in the U.S.A. They regard the blacks as dangerous as the Dalits, Sikhs and other groups at home. The Boston incident must have opened the American blacks’ eyes to the fact that some sort of apartheid is practiced in India by its Brahman rulers.
Leaders of the U.S. public opinion have to take notice of the psyche of the Indian rulers. Just as the Four Seasons’ staff reacted strongly against the Indian Brahmans, the Indian Dalits and other low castes strata no longer bear meekly the racial atrocities heaped on them by the Indian ruling class for centuries.
