His wife, Jaspeet, said Jan.22, that Gill inadvertently allowed the wife or suspected Punjabi assassin to rent their basement suite in Surrey two years ago She said Gill evicted the woman when he found out she was married to a man wanted by Indian police.
Gill then visited India’s vice consul in Vancouver to clear up the misunderstanding, said his brother. Ravinder Gill.
Gill had been in the Punjab since Oct. 14, trying to gather a troupe of Punjabi entertainers for shows in Vancouver, his wife said. Police visited his home in the Punjab and de mended that he hand over to Canadian passport, she added.
Gill refused and dashed to New Delhi. He was arrested Saturday
Ravinder Gill said to believes Indian police have taken his brother back to the Punjab, possibly because they’ve been fed false information from “jealous” Vancouver entertain competing with him stage shows.
