Thus all Sikhs, of whatever background, have indeed contributed to the glory of the Sikh nation throughout our history.
It would be blasphemous to suggest that Sikh-Jats alone are the beneficiaries of Khalistan. The so-called Ramgarhias are for that matter as much Jat as any others. Sardar Jassa Singh Ramgarhia, came to be associated with the term “Ramgarhia” because as a Sikh General he was commander of the mud fortress that the Sikhs had first, in the time of the Sixth Guru Hargobind, put up outside of Amritsar and named it Ram-Rauni, then changed the name of Ram-Garh.
The circumstances and parts played leading up to the last Sikh Raj or Rule, the Sikh kingdom in fact were attributable to Sikh leaders who were not necessarily Jat Sikhs. 3. Hence the opponents of KHALISTAN, who are allegedly non-Jats, and relatively comfortable in occupations of trade and commerce, have no historical precedent to support their attitudes. On the other hand prominent Jat-Sikhs are anti- Khalistan. Prominent in this list would be S. Darbara Singh, the present Chief Minister of Punjab State and towing the line of the Congress Party of Mrs. Indira Gandhi. Our adversaries curiously observe. ‘We would say ‘yes’ to Khalistan if all Sikhs could be unanimous on the question’. If that be so, Khalistan must be a near reality indeed.
