NEW DELHI: Former city Youth Congress president Sushil Sharma, charged with the murder of his wife Naina Sahni, is also involve Dina case of rioting, pending before city court since 1990.
The case of rioting came to light after a production warrant was issued against him for appearing before Tis Hazari court magistrate P.D. Gupta.
The police had filed cases of rioting against 19 persons, including Sushil Sharma, for allegedly damaging private and public property outside Congress MP Sajjan Kumar’s Madipur house some five years ago.
The CBI team had gone to arrest Sajjan Kumar for his alleged involvement in the 1984 anti-Sikh siots, the team; however, returned empty handed as an aggressive crowd prevented it from taking any action against Kumar. The irate crowd had completely damaged a Maruti jeep and an Ambassador car in which the CBI team had come. The mob had blocked traffic and attempted to set on fire DTC bus. It had also deflated several tires on the Rohtak Road.
