ROPAR: The Punjab Chief Minister, Harcharan Singh Brar, has appealed to the people of state to make habit of preserving ancient monuments and other places of historical importance in Punjab. Inaugurating a week long heritage celebrations and a photo exhibition at the ancient mound here Nov, 19, Mr. Brar said that it was the duty of every Punjabi to conserve our rich heritage for the coming generation so that they could learn about the rich past. Mr. Brar assured the authorities of Archaeological Survey of India that the state government would ensure that all encroachments on the historical and ancient places in the state made by the improvement trust, municipal council and public men would be removed and safety of these places be maintained.
