AMRITSAR: Was the Punjab Advocate General. Mr. ML. Sareen, misleading the Supreme Court in the case of “abduction” of the Akali leader and human rights activist, Mr, Jaswant Singh Khalra, from Amritsar: This question has come to the fore after the filing of an affidavit by the ‘Advocate General in the Supreme Court last week claiming that the wife ‘of Mr. Khalra was not cooperating with the investigation agencies to trace the “abducted” leader.

She said that the Chief Minister, Hareharan Singh Brar, was shirking his responsibility on the ground that case was subjudice. She further said that she had approached the court only when she failed t0 get justice from state authorities. She wanted to know that had the Supreme Court barred the state government from taking action against the guilty.
