 ‘With booming economy, there is growing need for air travel services in China. Li’s visit has been marred by tussle ‘over human rights issues in China. During his meeting with French President Jacques Chirac he said that China was ready for discussion, regarding human rights abuses, however, he reminded French President that China has different philosophical conception of human rights as compared to that of in western world.

‘This is Li’s first visit to France since the Beijing crackdown on prodemocracy ‘activists in 1989.

‘The latest deals to buy airplanes from European countries are viewed as a slap at air giant Boeing which has long dominated the Chinese markets, Chinas angry ‘over US posturing towards Taiwan.
