PILIBHIT: All the accused persons of the 1984 riots hailing from Patna, Himampur and Jadopur under Barkheda police station have acquitted and released honorably by the third additional district judge here.

All the accused were charged with arson and loot in the houses of Sikh families in the aftermath of murder of the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

None of the 17 prosecution witnesses will testify that the accused were involved in arson and loot. The case had been pending in the court for the past six years.
