SRINAGAR: Seven persons three of them militants were killed and 11 militants arrested while five subversives surrendered to the authorities during the past 24 hours in Kashmir valley.

Five bomb explosions in Anantnag district damaged the famous Nagbal temple complex and local telegraph office an official spokesman said here Jan 10.

Meanwhile the screening committee recommended release of seven persons after reviewing their cases the spokesman said

The spokesman said police found bullet riddled body of one Gull Malik alias Maqdoom from Bahu crossing in Anantnag Wednesday. The victim was kidnapped by militants on Monday. Militants attacked security men on the Hazaripora-Anpathen road in Badgam district Wednesday night. A militant Bashir Ahmed Bhat died in the cross firing. 77 empty cartridges of AK 47 rifle and one grenade were recovered from the scene the spokesman said.

He said one militant was killed in an encounter with the security forces in village Thindpora and Salbian in Kupwara district Wednesday One militant was arrested while remaining escaped under the cover of darkness.

He said 14 AK 47 rifles with 32 magazines one rocket booster one pistol and some ammunition were recovered from the scene.
