ISLAMABAD (PTD): Security forces Monday arrested at least 500 JKLF activists in Muzaffarabad. The capital of PAK-occupied Kashmir and set up Barricades on roads leading to the line of control. While the JKLF claimed its workers had been teargased and batons charged during “clashes” with police but were proceeding to cross the international border.
Reports reaching here from Muzaffarabad said the acting JKLF chairman Raja Muzaffar Khan escaped an attempt by security forces to arrest him while he was holding a press conference in Chinari about eight kilometer’s from the LOC.
Despite the prohibitory orders clamped by the POK Authorities in Muzaffarabad and adjoining areas banning processions and public rallies A few hundred.
JKLF activists had managed to reach Chinari by asking circuitous hilly racks.
The situation in Muzaffarabad and adjoining areas was tense and curfew like conditions prevailed. The JKLF said that total of 1800 of its workers had been taken into custody and the liberation league leaders including Khwaja Farooq and Zahid Amin were taken into custody this morning.
“The POK minister for general administration Sardar Sib Khalid told newsmen that the marchers would not be allowed to reach Chakothi and large contingents of Jaw enforcing agencies had been deployed at all the border points.
