IMPHAL(PTI): At least five per sons  two soldiers of the paramilitary forces and three civilians  were killed and six seriously injured in an encounter between security forces and valley ultras at Tera police outpost area here Aug.25.

Official sources said insurgents hurled a powerful bomb and opened fire at Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel who were collecting water near the outpost. Two soldiers who received serious bullet injuries later succumbed at the regional medical college hospital.

Other soldiers of the outpost came out and fired at the extremists. In the cross fire, three civilians were killed and six others including a woman seriously injured, they added.

India forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched a massive manhunt, one person identified as L. Arun alias Pakhangba was arrested the sources said. Meanwhile, one bomb was unearthed from the ports office near Polo ground Wednesday but it did not explode.
