JAMSHEDPUR: Three Sikh youths, suspected to be involved in assassination of Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, were nabbed by CBI sleuths here last week.

ACB team from Delhi came to city en-route Ranchi and conducted raids in Mango, Sakchi and Agrico areas, police said, The CBI officials arrested: Amrik Singh from Mango, Gurcharan Singh alias Billu, the manager of JTC transport from Sakchit and two others from Agrico area. The CBI officials, however, released one Gurminder Singh after interrogation:

Police had been unaware about the arrival of CBI sleuths here and came to know about it only after the arrest of the four Sikh youths. The CBI officials arrested the youths dramatically from different places and took the arrested to an undisclosed destination.

The District and sessions court granted permission to the lawyers of the two accused in the Beant Singh: murder case to meet them in police custody, State Correspondent adds from Chandigarh.

Replying to their application Shekhar Dhawan and Chief Judicial Magistrate said the lawyers defending ac caused Gurmit Singh and Lakhwinder Singh met them in the presence of CBI official on September 14.

The two accused who have been remanded to public custody were presented before the court on September, 15.

 Meanwhile, the lawyers have moved ‘an application in the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking clarifications on identification parade before the extension of their police remand.
