DHAKA: At least 150 people were feared drowned when a passenger launch sank in the river Lohali in Bangladesh’s Patuakhali district Sunday, press reports said.

The accident occurred when the vessel, with 200 passengers on board, collided with another launch in dense fog at Muradia, eight kms from Patuakhali town.

Fifty people travelling on the roof of the sunken vessel swam ashore;
