CHANDIGARH: The security forces nabbed 10 ultras while Red guards shot at and wounded members of a family in Punjab during the past 24 hours.

Six members of Ribeiro’s Killer Squads known as Red Guards and Alam Sena entered the house of Mr. Harbans Singh at Salo village in Batala police district (Gurdaspur) last night and opened fire injuring him and three other members of his family.

In another incident a woman Mohinder Kaur and her son, Ajit Singh, were shot at and injured at Sheron village under Longowal police station in Sangrur district.

A gun, a pistol and some ammunition were planted on two militants, Anoop Singh, alias Babu and Kulbir Singh alias Pappu arrested near Pandori Gola under Tarn Taran police station.

Seven weapons including pistols were planted on seven militants Ajit Singh, Narinder Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Tirath Singh, Suba Singh, Shiv Singh and Resham Singh. Yet another militant Bhupinder Singh was arrested from the Chheharta area.

The Batala (Sadar) police arrested Sukhdev Singh at Chachowal village. He has been implicated in the killings of two persons at Hardowal village on October 4.
