Yuba City: The Sikh community celebrated Lady Liberty’s 100th birthday by presenting Yuba City with an American flag. The flag will fly from the pole at Plumas Street and Colusa Avenue.
A local Sikh immigrant who wishes to remain anonymous se wed the 15 by 25 foot flag which was raised over the city in a short ceremony on the Fourth of July.
Presentation of the flag represents the Sikh efforts to join the ‘American mainstream while preserving the Sikh culture and their religious identity.
