WASHINGTON, DC: On Feb.25, at the International Sikh Secretariat, WSO (USA) elected its executive committee. Dr.Gurcharan Singh Dhillon requested the members of WSO that he had been serving as the president for the last few years and, therefore, he preferred that a new person should serve on this position. He was, however, requested to continue for one year more.
The following committee was unanimously agreed upon: Dr.Gurcharan Singh Dhillon (President), S.Surinder Pal Singh Kalra (Director of Administration), Dr.Harbans Singh Sraon (Senior Vice President), S Lakhbir Singh Chima (Vice President, West), S.Balwant Singh Hansra (Vice President, Midwest), S.Harbhajan Singh Gill (Vice President, East), s.Amolak Singh (Vice President, South), $Gurmej Singh Gill (Director of Finance).
The following resolutions were unanimously passed:
(1) All the Executive committee members were encouraged to visit various Gurdwara Sahibs and should get introduced to the executive committee members of the Gurdwara Sahibs. Get their constructive suggestions (or constructive criticisms) in order to promote our Sikh cause in USA and in other parts of the World. This type of communication is very important, especially under the present circumstances.
(2) WSO office, in Washington DC, should be used, as far as possible, for the office purpose only.
(3) S_Didar Singh Bains introduced Mr.Bob Herriott to all the members and guests present during the meeting. Harriott is running an election in Georgia for congressman. After listening the very impressive speech of Herriott, the membership approved an appeal for money to help him in this campaign.
Sikhs in US are requested to help Bob Herriot, whose address is:
