BOSTON: In a signed statement released to the press, the W.S.O. leaders, S. Didar Singh Bains, Dr. Manohar Singh Grewal, and S. Gian Singh Sandhu condemned Dr. Aulakh’s statements in India Abroad and Counter Terrorism. They described them as false, “malicious and divisive”. The statement has been issued to set the record straight in view of Dr. Gurmeet Singh Aulakh’s comments published in the Counter Terrorism Vol.3, No. 4 of Feb. 22, 1988 and India Abroad of March 4, 1988.

“The World Sikh Organization has two offices on the east coast. These two offices are located at 45/26 Burling Street, Flusing, New York 11355 and at 575 Boylston Street, Boston, MA.02116. The West Coast office is located at Yuba City, Ca. Dr. Aulakh’s insinuation “Oh, (W.S.O.) they do exist but there is no office or anything”. (Counter Terrorism page 10) is a deliberate attempt to misrepresent and misinform the public, as he is well aware of these offices. The office of International Wing of W.S.O. is currently located at 19 Green fell Crescent, #2015, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada K2G 0G3, before this its location was 1420 16th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20036. The allegations that “three or four young people got arrested in New Orleans was a set up by the W.S.O. leader and that “WSO has been penetrated by the Indian intelligence agents”. (India Abroad March 4, 1988) are malicious and apparently false. Either Dr. Aulakh should prove these allegations or retract them. Such apparently self-serving comments by Dr. Aulakh create divisions among the Sikhs and hurt the Sikh cause. At this critical juncture, the Panthic Committee, AISSF, Jathedar Singh Sahib Jasbir Singh Rode of Akali Takht Sahib and four Singh Sahibs recently released, are emphasizing the need for a Panthic Unity rather than creating divisions. Dr. Aulakh’s comments are contrary to this cause. Sikhs lost their empire soon after the death of Maharaja Ranjit Singh due to disunity and self-interest among the various groups in the Sikh nation; it is high time that we learn from our mistakes and from history.

We call upon the Sikhs all over the world to unite and work together against the tyrant Indian government to free the Sikh nation.

The Statement Is Signed Didar Singh Bains, President W.S.O. International Dr. Manohar Singh Grewal President, W.S.O. U.S.A. Gian Singh Sandhu, President W.S.O. Canada
