NEW DELHI: Asian track star P.T Usha and middle distance runner Bahadur Prasad will be leading India’s hopes in the athletics competition at the 11th Asian games due to begin on September 22 at Beijing China.

Right from September 27, when events this discipline get underway, India’s supporters will be eager to know the exploits of the veritable gold bank which runs on Usha’s powerful legs.

Athletics buffs in the country and some in the continent cannot be blamed for haying such faith in this railway officer from the southern Indian state of Kerala who has till date won three individual gold and silver medals, each in two successive asiads since the 1982 New Delhi games.
