Surat Singh Khalsa secretary United Akali Dal condemned the action of Punjab govt. in detaining two party leaders, Mr. Jagdev Singh Talwandi former President and a former MLA Mr. Ranjit Singh Brahmpura in connection with the assassination of Harchand Singh Longowal, Mr. Talwandi was released after 5 hours of interrogation by the police but Mr. Brahmpura was later formally arrested and remanded to police custody for 15 days. Mr. Abhinashi Singh a personal secretary to Mr. Gurcharan Singh Tohra was also detained by the police for questioning in connection with Sant Longowal’s murder.
