NEW DELHI: The United Arab Emirates has conveyed to India that it is opposed to the policy of raking up the Kashmir issue and described as unacceptable infiltration from across the border.

UAE oil minister Al Otaiba, who called on Indian Prime Minister VP Singh Wednesday stressed that no country should create problems for its neighbors as it led to a waste of resources.

OTAIBA is visiting India as a special envoy of UAE president Sheikh Zayed.

He expressed the hope that India and Pakistan would see the advantage in cooperating with each other as their friendship would be useful for all Arab countries.

During his 40 minute meeting with the prime minister it was stated that Jammu and Kashmir was an internal problem of India and could be solved easily on the basis of the Shimla agreement, an external affairs ministry spokesman said.
