CALCUTTA; The Punjab unit of the BJP has suggested a nine point plan to bring normalcy to the state living with unabated violence for over eight years. The plan details mainly administrative steps and does not include any political initiative.
In a report submitted to the party’s central executive Madan Mohan Mittal president Punjab BJP demanded effective sealing of the International border, combing operations with army help, appointment of honest police officers from outside Punjab and a thorough screening of the police force Mittal also wanted setting up o: a special cell to review the situation on a weekly basis.
The Punjab BJP wanted no talk of elections till peace was restored. The center must declare that peace was its top priority.
