CHANDIGARH, India: Mr. Sher Singh Doomcheri, President of the youth wing of the Unified Akali Dal, challenged the claim of the party leadership that the youth wing had been disbanded.
In a statement issued here, Mr. Doomcheri said that the so-called leadership of the UAD was not competent to disband the youth wing. The Working Committee of the youth wing had been summoned at the local office of the SGPC to take stock of the situation arising out of threats to oust him from the office and the party.
He asserted that only Mr. Simranjit Singh Mann, Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and Mr. G.S. Tohra, now lodged in jail, were competent to disband the youth wing.
