NEW DELHI, India— Two young men hanged themselves after writing a suicide note saying that they did it to feel “the joy of dying” newspaper reports said Sunday.
The Times of India said the bodies of Sunder Pal, 21, and Raj Kumar, 22, were found dangling at the end of ropes slung over iron rafters at a textile shop Saturday in the East Delhi suburb of Gorakh Park.
A suicide note found near the bodies said the bodies said the victims’ families should not be upset. It said the pair decided to kill themselves because of curiosity and to “experience the joy of dying.”
Friends of Pal and Kumar said neither showed indications of suicidal behavior.
The Hindustan Times said Pal was known locally as a judo and karate expert.
