BOMBAY: Door Darshan has summarily rejected the telecasting of a 30 minute documentary film on the message and philosophy of Jayaprakash Narayan.

In a letter addressed to its producer director Atma Ram, it has been stated that the preview committee has not recommended the film “J.P.” for telecast on Door darshan.

Earlier the Films Division had refused to part with stock shots on J.P. for which Atma Ram had made a request.

Atma Ram had to contend himself with the shooting of opinions and evaluation of JP and his works by S. M. Joshi his younger sister his nephew, Mirnal Gore and student activists.

The highlight of the film is exposition of JPs political philosophy running into 13 minutes in which he talks about sarvodaya gram, swaraj, land reforms, true democracy, civil liberties, freedom of the press, village economy, the need to root out corruption and unemployment.

Incidentally the earlier government approved documentary on JP made by the late Rajhans Khanna had depicted him as a tyrant and Hitler.
