We express our sorrow it the tragic loss of several hundred lives in fire accident at Dabwali, Sisa, India, and Loss of any human life is a tragic happening. This tragedy is more unbearable because of hundreds of children’s died while engaged in educational and cultural celebrations.

The fact that this tragedy could have been avoided and hundreds of human lives could have tern saved, by merely adhering to the minimum, safety standards, is highly deplorable. This calls for a thorough reassessment of the priorities guiding the administrative processes in India.

World Sikh Organization, as a representative body of the Sikhs conveys its deepest sympathies to the families and the friends of the victims of this avoidable human disaster and urges the regulatory administrative organs of the Government of Lidia to take all necessary steps to avoid any reoccurrence of such tragedy.
