NEW DELHI(PTI): The total debt outstanding, on Indian Government account up to 199293, are external debt Rs.1,171,980 million and internal debt and other liabilities Rs.3,549,640 million, Minister of state for finance, M.V. Chanrashekhara Murthy, Said in the lower house of the parliament May 7, that the external debt position was up to February this year as the accounts for March were not yet closed.
The minister said that the percentage of debt interest charges to total revenue of the government in 199293 comes to 36.8% as regards internal debt and other li abilities and 4.7% as regards external debt.
