LUDHIANA, India: Three members of the Council of Ministers of Punjab Cabinet figured in the 208 prosecution witnesses to be examined in the Sant Harchand Singh Longowal murder case. They are Nusrat Ali Khan, Minister of State for jails, Mr. Kundan Singh Patang, Deputy Minister and Mr. Surinder Singh Dhami, Parliamentary Secretary in the Barnala government. The trial proceedings in the case have started in the court of R.S.
Sharma additional judge’s court. The court had held three sittings. Inside the Sangrur Jail where the accused persons in the case are lodged.
The next hearing of the case will now be held on Feb. 3 for four days when the statements of more prosecution witnesses will be examined.
Sant Longowal died on Aug. 25, 1985, in Gurdwara Akal Parkash Sherpur in Sangrur District.
