AMRITSAR: There was a sto1m in the Akali Dal (B) tea cup in Prof Darshan Singh’s resignation. Not many in the Badal group asked him to take it back.
The letter said he (Darshan Singh) was firm. Badal himself refused comment saying the matter was being handled by the SGPC. According to informed sources a new line up was emerging within the Akali group.
Darshan singh is said to be close to Talwandi.
Observers noted with interest a remark Simranjit Singh made about Talwandi recently saying that he had played a Positive role in resurrecting the Anandpur resolution. Could this mean Mann is trying to woo Talwandi to join his bandwagon?
On the other hand there are indications that the Badal group might appoint Gurdey Singh Kaonkeas Jathedar of Akal Takhat. In other words Badal may be trying to please the Rode family who are in his camp.
