SRINAGAR: A senior superintendent of police AL Khan escaped an attempt on is life while nine people five of them security men were injured in clashes between militants and security forces in strife-tom Kashmir valley Saturday night.
The situation in the curfew bound Anantnag town of south: Kashmir was stated to be “tense” but under control Sunday official sources said here.
Curfew was imposed in the town on Saturday following demonstrations against continued crackdown in major areas of the town.
Militant’s fired at the vehicle of Khan near Kral-Sangri when he \Was going to Nishat. The guards accompanying Khan returned the fire. No casualty was reported the sources said.
The sources said eight persons four of them border security personnel (BSF) were injured when militants hurled grenades.
