NEW DELHI, REUTER — India is offering its Olympic Hockey team a 60,600 dollar reward if they win the gold medal in Seoul, a senior sports official said.
The team will take home 30,000 dollars if they bag the silver and 19,000 dollars the bronze in September, the PTI of India quoted! Lokpati Tripathi, president of Uttar Pardesh state Olympic committee, as saying on Thursday.
India, once the top Hockey nation, suffered ignominious defeats in recent years, finishing third at the 1986 Asian games in Seoul and last in the 1987 world cup in London.
