NEW YORK, NY: A Sikh radio program was broadcast for the first time in New York on May 8. The half hour program is being run by the Sikh Broadcasting Network.
A brief introduction by Randhir Singh was followed by the recitation of the Mul Mantra and its explanation by Giani Gurdeep Singh, the Head Granthi of Sikh Cultural Society, and N.Y.
Shabad Kirtan and English rendering of the Sakhi of Baba Deep Singh followed.
The produce of the program Amarjeet Singh told World Sikh News “more input from the audience will help to improve the program”. He said that a news section was being incorporated from the next week and Mrs. Narinder Kaur, who has extensive experience on Radio in India, would be the main announcer.
The program is broadcast from the Empire State Building on WEVD 98 FM and has a range of 90 miles. It will be broadcasted every Sunday from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
