Jabalpur — A second court-martial trial of five army personnel, who deserted from the Sikh regimental Centre, Ramgarh, on June 10 last year after the army operation in the Golden Temple began here from March 11 according to defense sources here.
The five accused facing charges of mutiny, desertion and abetment under various sections of the Army Act, are Naik Harpal Singh, Naik Baldev Singh, L. Naik Bir Singh, Sepoy Pritam Singh and Sepoy Surain Singh.
The convening authority, GOC, MP, Bihar and Orissa area, have permitted the accused to engage a defense counsel (civil).
