PATERSON NJ: Hundreds of people attended the saskar (funeral) of Sardar Sohan Singh which was held here on January 2. The antim ardas was performed by Giani Gurdeep Singh the head Granthi of Sikh Cultural Society, Richmond Hill NY.
Sardar Sohan Singh, 33, passed away on December 28. His car skidded on an icy part of route 663 in Pennsylvania and collided with a truck killing him instantaneously. He is survived by his wife Sardarni Harbinder Kaur, and his two children Garry Singh (6) and Daman Kaur (2).
Sardar Sohan Singh an engineer by training had immigrated to the United States six years ago. He ran a gas station business in New Jersey. He was the son-in-law of S. Jarnail Singh Grewal, and was actively associated with community affairs especially in the activities of the youth, along with the rest of the Grewal family.
The bhog will be held on January 6 at the Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Glenrock NJ at 2 p.m. according to S. Amarjit Singh Grewal.
