Ludhiana: As in every election the imminent Punjab polls have triggered off curious events. The local police here have come up against an intriguing problem of sorts with regard to providing security to candidates who are filing nominations for Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha seats.
At least two candidates Madan Lal and Suresh Kumar (both independents) informed the police that since they had a one-room accommodation they were unable to house the security personnel allotted to them. The matter was then referred to senior officers.
Now both the candidates hat been housed in the local political station A first in police history the police also has to provide them with meals.
