AMRITSAR: The Akal Takht Jathedar, Prof Darshan Singh in an open letter to Damdami Taksaal Chief Baba Thakar Singh, asked him to clarify if freedom fighters had been issuing threatening letters to the Akal Takht Chief with the consent of the Taksaal. He stated in the letter that he had been receiving threatening letters from the freedom fighters. The threatening letters, he alleged, claimed that the instructions to write those letters were given by the Taksaal and “there has never been a denial to the threat either from your side or from the Damdami Taksaal,” it said.
The letter says that the government has been blaming him for instigating the Sikhs and Taksaal also blamed him for opposing the Sikh traditions. The letter alleged that the thinking of the Government and the Taksaal seemed similar.
Prof. Darshan Singh wrote that by threatening no plan would be implemented.
Meanwhile AISSF has taken serious note of Prof. Darshan Singh’s open letter to the Taksaal Chief involving him in the alleged plot to eliminate him. AISSF spokesman warned Darshan Singh against such actions and said he would not be spared if he persisted with such baseless charges against the Taksaal Chief.
