Colombo, Sri Lanka Security forces killed top guerrilla leader Pandithan along with 13 other
Rebels in an encounter with Sri Lanka’s most powerful rebel group. This information was released to the press by the National Security Minister, Lalith Athulathmudali. Forty-four other guerrillas were captured January 9 when the security forces attacked ammunition dump of the insurgents the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.
