PESHAWAR, Pakistan ,March 27, Reuter: A Pakistani court sentenced a man to death on Sunday for an Afghan related bus bombing that killed four people and injured 17 two years ago.
A government statement said convict said Gull had confessed being hired by Afghan authorities for the May 6, 1986, attack in Peshawar, capital of the North West Frontier province bordering Afghanistan.
The province plays host to most of an estimated three million Afghan refugees and the main guerrilla parties fighting the Soviet backed Afghan government.
The statement said Gul told the court he had received 70,000 Afghanis (1,400 dollars) as his share of a total of 300,000 Afghanis (6,000 dollars) as his share of a total of. 300,000 Afghanis (6,000 dollars) paid to four men.
