CHANDIGARH, India: Mohan Singh of village Nakewal in Hoshiarpur District was shot dead by two un-known gunmen, the police said, Security forces have arrested several more freedom fighters during the last 24 hours, In Amritsar and Nakodar curfew continues. A number of Hindu leaders and workers of Shiv Sena and of another organization were detained in Punjab for apprehension of breach of peace on the eve of Punjab Band to protest against the killing and migration of Hindus. According to a late report from Jullundur, there were two bomb blasts in Shiva Ji Park in Julltundur. One person was wounded and his condition was described by the police as serious. According to a report from Hoshiarpur, Mr, Mohan Singh was seriously injured near his village by two suspected gunmen. He was admitted to the hospital. The gunmen went away on the scooter towards village Dhariwal. No arrests have been made so far.
