Ambassador: That’s right.

Journalist: He said since he was retiring within two months, he would leave it to his successor to pursue the matter.

Ambassador: Very correct.

Journalist: How come the President has abdicated two months before his retirement? Do you think he has compromised because of a secret deal in the form of a position for his son or daughter or may be for a fat share out of Bofors deal?

Journalist: Mr. Ambassador, press reports suggest that Rajiv has decided to reward Surjit Singh Barnala with either VicePresidentship of India or with some other high office for betraying the Sikh nation.

Ambassador; That’s right.

Journalist: Barnala, however, said that he has not been offered any office so far. But he indicated that he was not adverse to accepting some office if it was offered to him.

Ambassador: Very correct.

Journalist: How come a person dismissed for his incompetence to control Punjab is being rewarded with a high office? Is it being purposely done to give the impression that the Sikh leaders who betray their nation are not left in the lurch so that greedy leaders can in future be used against their own religion?

Journalist: Mr. Ambassador, over 100 persons have lost their lives in the Hindu Muslim riots that have been raging in Delhi, Meerut and some other towns of Uttar Pradesh since May 18.

Ambassador: That’s right.

Journalist: Most of those killed were Muslims. They were killed for raising their voice against the conversion of Babari Masjid in Ayodhaya into a Hindu temple.

Ambassador: Very correct.

Journalist: How is it peaceful protesters belonging to the minorities like Muslims, Sikhs and Dalits are gunned down by the police while rampaging Hindu mobs indulging in large scale murders, arson and raping are assisted and abetted by the police?
