TORONTO: Metro councilors said that all beauty pageants have no place on publicly owned land. But “despite their decision, this year’s bikini contest will go ahead. Organizers have already signed a contract with the exhibition place for the 1993 CHIN picnic on Canada day’s weekend. CHIN radio president Johnny Lonbardi said that the future of the bikini contest, in the 27th year, is now uncertain. Bikini contests were strongly opposed by various women groups.
