ONTARIO: The Management Committee of Ontario Khalsa Darbar is pleased to announce the unanimous decision of their members on January 28, 1995 at the General Body meeting. They agreed to acquire additional 10.4 acres of land facing the main building on the Derry and Dixic road: intersection. The details of our land deal and agenda of a recent Press Conference are as follows:

10.4 acres land acquired all members unanimously passed to acquire the 10.4 acres of land with the immediate effect. The closing of over 6.3 acres land is by May 1995 and the additional 3.4 acres will be acquired by September 1995, or at a later date at the same agreed conditions and price. 7 acres will be acquired for $2,00 with clear title.

The members agreed to install Traffic Lights along with Dixie Road to case the traffic. This will also make it easier for the countless devotees and worshippers to visit.

The members further agreed to develop the main building, build a Khalsa School and Community Center. The architect impression of our new developments is already published, which may have some changes The Khalsa School details are being worked out now. The Community Center will be utilized by the community for community functions and ceremonies. These new buildings will be able to take a load off from the main building’s many functions throughout the year.

Our Gurdwara, in association with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, has developed the Punjabi Translation for the facility and convenience of new drivers. The book is in Punjabi and passed out with the guidelines of the Ministry of Transportation. We spent over $4000 and completed the project in about 20 months. Anyone who wishes to take the written test in Punjabi can do so in any Ontario driving test center.
