Stockton — The National Council of World Sikh Organization of U.S.A. decided at its meeting here to fully support World Sikh News. The members expressed satisfaction with the quality and progress of the weekly newspaper. It was made obligatory for each member of the council to collect at least 50 new subscribers and one advertisement each within the next two months. Members recalled that the weekly newspaper was started in view of practically nonexistent Sikh media, a situation which facilitated Indian government’s policy of both distorting Sikh image and misleading the World about the realities of Sikh problems in Punjab. In a touching remark Dr. Karamjit S. Rai observed that there must be “something seriously wrong with our motivation if we can’t make this paper a success.”
