NEW DELHI: Two prominent Muslim leaders warned of launching mass agitation programs from early next month, to protest against the Center’s alleged move to hand over the Babri masjid site to the trust by the Shankaracharyas and other religious figures, to build a Ram temple in Ayodhya. They charged Prime Minister PY, Narasimha Rao, with having supported a totally undemocratic and unconstitutional step or setting up the temple trust, even before the Supreme Court had given its Opinion on the issue.

It seems that the task left unfulfilled by the VHP and the BJP would be accomplished by the Congress leaders and their allies among the Hindu religious leaders,” Naib Imam of Delhi’s Jama Masjid Syed Ahmad Bukhari, and convenor of the Qaumi Mushawarat Committee Jawed Habib, told a press conference.
