CALCUTTA: Mother Teresa recently denied that she had participated in any sit in demonstration in Delhi last week to demand reservations for Dalit Christians and said that she was only invited to a prayer meeting of all religious.

I am not involved in it (reservation for Dalit Christians) and do not know what it is, My life is dedicated to God ‘and I never interfere in politics of which I know nothing,” the Mother told news persons. She said that the prayer meeting was held to pray together for equal rights for men and women and wondered why such an issue was raised after she had spent so many years in India.

She added the BJP should first prove its allegation that she was engaged in converting people to Christianity. She regretted that certain newspapers were twisting facts. The Mother pointed out that the objective of her Missionaries of Charity was solely to serve the poorest of the poor, irrespective of their caste, creed or religion.
